Isabel’s memory lives on through pony rescue charity

After the tragic loss of her daughter in a car crash, Dr. Paula Dupuy chose to honour the 11-year-old’s memory by fulfilling her lifelong dream of rescuing ponies.

“I’m going to have a rescue,” Dupuy recalled her daughter, Isabel Dupuy, saying.

At the time, Dupuy told her daughter she needed to get a “real” job when she grew up. But shortly after Isabel’s death on March 4, 2011, her mother — a veterinarian of 20 years — decided to launch the Wind Dancer Pony Rescue Foundation. The registered charity helps bring domestic and wild unwanted ponies back to health and attempts to match them with a foster family.
