Real lives, real stories—the heart of Toronto’s Historic Sites.

Nestled in the south end of scenic High Park, Colborne Lodge offers visitors a glimpse of what life was like here over 150 years ago.

Colborne Lodge is a vibrant historic museum with knowledgeable staff who offer enriching activities and hands-on fun for kids and their families.

This rare Regency picturesque cottage is a graceful monument to John and Jemima Howard, the couple who founded High Park.  They were avid gardeners and when you visit you may see Colborne Lodge’s extensive ornamental and kitchen gardens, which are currently being restored.

Tour the house or come and enjoy the many programs held here throughout the year. March Break and Summer Day Camps for kids, Doors Open Toronto, Harvest Festival, Christmas celebrations, holiday wreathmaking and food workshops for adults are among the annual highlights.

Many thanks to photographers David Allen of www.highparkphotos.ca, Ann Brokelman, and those at the City of Toronto’s Multi-Media Services, as well as Parks, Forestry and Recreation for supplying additional pictures for this film.

Colborne Lodge is located in High Park just north of The Queensway on the east side of Colborne Lodge Drive. Call 416-392-6916 or email clodge@toronto.ca
