Making Smart Buyers

Even though most of us have not built a home ourselves, we have an idea that it’s not a simple task. When investing so much in a new home purchase, it pays to be kept in the construction loop. And while some builders might provide one sheet of paper that relates to the process, Losani Homes has a more comprehensive approach.

Fred Losani, CEO of Losani homes believes such limited information “does a disservice to the complexity of the building of a home and communicating what it is that goes into it”. His company provided buyers with a Q-Smart booklet to keep them informed. The “Q” stands for quality as it relates to the various features of the home.

The booklet describes how energy efficiency is incorporated into Losani Homes, the type of products used and the company’s “green program”. The builder emphasizes that his company not only incorporates environmentally friendly products into the homes, it also runs its building sites with a green sensibility.

Being “Q” or “quality” smart extends to smart technology and smart comfort as well says Losani. The booklets also explain “what we are doing to make the home healthier for you as well”.

“People want to know and we want people to know. It’s a great story,” says Losani of the home building process and its intricacies.

“If a builder is not building a very good home maybe he doesn’t want to let you know,” he adds.

Losani wants buyers to know about every aspect of construction right down to the fact that they use three hinges on doors instead of two. Cabinetry is built with three-quarter-inch wood which is glued and doweled to make joints extra sturdy. Interiors will soon be maple instead of melamine. A long-standing relationship with trades allows such changes to be made and ensures quality work. Losani has been using the same cabinet manufacturer for 33 years and has refined construction methods along the way.

“We’re really proud of our construction process,” the builder admits.

The goal of the Q-Smart booklet is to make it easy for buyers to understand the process. As a communication tool, it features plenty of illustrations. To flip through the pages of the booklet or to download it as a PDF visit the Losani Homes website at www.losanihomes.com.
