It’s a matter of course that a pregnant woman
undergoes a diagnostic ultrasound, to help to assess the health of the fetus.
At 3D Baby Vision Fetal Imaging the ultrasound takes on a
new dimension. The keepsake ultrasound experience is presented in 3-D on a
42-inch plasma screen located in a comfortable viewing suite. 3D Baby Vision
gives the un-born baby’s parents and their guests an amazing, real-time view.
The 3D technology opens a window on the pregnancy that strengthens the bond to
the developing pre-birth baby.
“They feel that they have met their baby,” explains Marilyn
Smith, office manager at 3D Baby Vision in Oakville.
Clients get to open the “window” at around the 26rd
week of pregnancy. It’s mandatory that clients have undergone their 18-20 week
fetal assessment diagnostic ultrasound and followed up with a medical
practitioner before “meeting” their baby in 3-D. Smith stresses that 3D Baby
Vision does not perform any diagnostic procedural ultrasounds. The ultrasound
experience leaves the parents-to-be with lasting memories and beautiful
keepsakes.
There can be other benefits as well though. In addition to
helping parents bond with their unborn baby, mothers are inspired to become
even more diligent about positive lifestyle and dietary choices. Fathers in
particular feel more involved and connected.
One father expressed that he felt he could reach out and hold his child
because of the clarity and amazing images.
Grandmothers are particularly moved because the technology
was not available when they were having children, Smith says. Clients and guest are sometimes moved so much
they have shed tears of joy during the ultrasound experience.
Marilyn has witnessed many 3D image viewers state that they
feel like they had met their baby through their experience. She recalls hearing
a young sibling-to-be ask is she could play with the baby now. This reaction
points to how seeing the baby in utero helps children adjust to the impending
arrival.
Gender assessment can be one of the goals of clients.
Although the registered ultrasound technologist is knowledgeable in identifying
the gender, it’s not almost always 100 per cent guaranteed. Knowing the gender
can also enhance parental bonding and it definitely helps when decorating a
nursery and gives some direction to baby shower guests.
Some expectant parents do not want to know the gender of the
baby before the birth; they prefer to keep it a surprise. Ultrasound Packages can be done without
revealing the gender.
Clients not only have a wonderful experience with their
pre-birth baby during their session at 3D Baby Vision, and depending on the
package they have booked, they could have
a DVD that captures the movements of their baby in real time. One of 3D Baby
Vision’s clients used the DVD in a unique way. The high school teacher
presented it to students in her health class.
Packages can include a CD of 3D images, 3D images of their choice printed on 4x6 photo
paper , optional gender assessment and the new parents-to-be will be able to
listen to the baby’s heart beat. Clients that purchase the Premium Ultrasound
Package and have the option of a web hosting which includes two-month access to
a secure protected website that features their images on the CD online. They
can give the protected password and log in to loved ones, family and friends so
they can have the opportunity of viewing the CD images.
