Brick by brick since 1994, Jeff Paikin, president of New Horizon Homes, along with vice-president Joe Giacomodonato, has enjoyed a level of success derived from business acumen and focus. The two are a hands-on team that offers a perfect blend of management skill and technical construction knowledge.

In his professional life, Paikin earned the honour of the Canadian Home Builders Association’s (CHBA) Canadian Roof Topper of the Year 2003. That year he was also past president of the Association, a group that had him involved as vice-chair of the founding Urban Council. At the local level, he is a past president of the Hamilton/Halton Home Builders Association (HHHBA) in 2003 and won two awards from the HHHBA, including the President’s Award and the Paul Wright Memorial Award in 2009.

He has fed his passion for sports by acting as a partner and board member in the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL Affiliate to the Montreal Canadiens), and as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Advisory Board. It’s now his 26th year on committee of the B'Nai Brith Sports Celebrity Dinner in Hamilton, 13 of which he has filled the role of either chair or co-chair of what is the longest running charity dinner in Hamilton, entertaining 1100 guests annually, raising more than $1,500,000 for local charities in that time frame.

Another local charity he has worked to support is the Hamilton Children’s Aid Society. As a member of its Capital Campaign Cabinet, Paikin arranged and secured the largest gift in Ontario history for this organization.

Even further outside the box of the president of a new home development company, Paikin is executive producer and director for a film company with a film being released next summer from New Chapter Productions Inc. He’s also the vice-president of Opening Day Entertainment Group.

The father of three is currently co-chair of the Board of the Canadian Association of Independent Schools/Canadian Educational Standards Institute and co-chair of the Family Campaign at Hillfield Strathallan College in Hamilton. In the past he has been a member of the board of Hillfield Strathallan College for 10 years and is its past chair. He was also a member of the Foundation Board Hillfield Strathallan College for 5 years and completed a two-year term as a member of the board of the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation.

Volunteer commitments in his past are member of the Board of the Mount Allison University Alumni Association, board member of Junior Achievement of Hamilton and the Mount Allison University Board of Regents.
