It’s been almost 30 years since Anthony DeSantis Jr. had his first job sweeping and cleaning up the houses being built by his father’s company A. DeSantis DeVelopments Ltd. He’d always known he’d join the family business and long ago traded in his broom. Today Anthony is vice president working alongside the president of the company, his father A. (Tony) DeSantis.

Before moving into a full time position with the company in 1995, Anthony completed an MBA degree at McMaster . His father had started his career selling real estate then bought, renovated and rebuilt some homes for resale. This was the start of a career moved toward home building.

Building houses for over 47 years now, the senior DeSantis was recently inducted into the Hamilton/Halton Homebuilders Association Hall of Fame. Anthony is a past president of that professional organization. Working closely with his father has been an ongoing educational experience for Anthony . The senior DeSantis is still actively involved in the business which he loves. The pair has different personalities that complement each other in a positive way.

The fact that A. DeSantis DeVelopments Ltd. is a smaller, family-run business that carries the family name, ensures a quality product. It’s a company that values its reputation and there is great pride taken in the homes it builds. Many of the trades that work for the company have had a long association. They are local, smaller companies that have the same degree of pride in their work. Some have grown along with the builder.
