With the
holiday season quickly approaching, the festivities at Square One Shopping
Centre are now in full swing. Having recently launch Melody & Magic, eager
holiday shoppers will undoubtedly find themselves fully embracing the holiday
spirit.
“Melody & Magic is music and light
synchronized show. The lights dance to holiday classical music,” explains Square
One marketing director Linda Keen-Lausberg. “The lights beam up into the 60
foot dome skylight in Centre Court and also on the 30 foot high video tree.”
Over 250,000 LED choreographed lights create a spectacular synchronized light
show that dance in time to holiday instrumental classics including Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride, and Leon
Jessel’s Parade of Wooden Soldiers.
The opening night of Melody & Magic
entertained shoppers with a live performance by the Ballet Jörgen Canada ballet
dancers from the Group of Seven Nutcracker, and the Mississauga Children’s
Choir. Santa Claus couldn’t
have asked for a more festive and jovial event to welcome him to Square One.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to have their photograph taken with jolly
old St. Nick until December 24, when he has to leave to deliver toys to all the
girls children around the world.
Melody & Magic continues through the
holiday season until December 24. Holiday shoppers can enjoy the show every day
starting at 5pm, and every half hour until the mall closes.
