For more than two decades, Winzen has been building quality homes in many prestigious neighborhoods in southern Ontario. The company began as Winkler Zenkovich Real Estate Company in the 1950s with Victor Zenkovich and Sylvio Winkler. Eventually, the company evolved to become a homebuilder and the name changed to Winzen – using the first three letter of each of the founder’s last names. Brian and Raymond Zenkovich joined the company in the mid 1980s. Twenty five years later, the brothers have continued to build on the company’s commitment to providing the best quality, service, and customer satisfaction.
Building predominately in southern Ontario, Winzen has designed and built townhomes, freehold detached homes, and custom homes in Hamilton, Burlington, Cambridge, Ancaster, Brantford, and as far north as Alliston. Stoneridge on Tiffinay Creek in Hamilton, Stoneridge in Ancaster, and Chestnut Grove Estates in Campbellville are a few of Winzen’s latest communities.
Having been successful in the home building industry, Brian and Raymond understand how important it is for the company to evolve with the needs and requests of their customers and the competitive housing market. When choosing locations for potential sites, Brain explains that they choose land that captures and inspires their attention to build homes that embrace the natural surroundings of potential communities.
“We’ve evolved our homes to meet the customer’s desires. Generally, homes have become more upscale and they’ve become larger over time,“ says Brian. “Customers put a lot of thought into what they wanted and we worked them to give them the things that they desired in a new home.”
WInzen is committed to offering the highest standards in custom built homes and customer care.
“Our commitment begins as people are looking at the houses, but we realize that it’s a long term commitment and it doesn’t end when they move into their house,” says Raymond. “We work closely with them to make sure they know what they’re options and choices are, so they can choose what they would like in the house.”
Homebuyers are led through the house at the framing stage to ensure its being built in accordance to the plans. “It gives them the opportunity to make any changes. Before they move into the house, we do a pre-delivery inspection of the house,” explains Raymond, but Winzen’s commitment doesn’t end there. A Winzen representative follows up with homebuyers on a regular basis – in 30 days, one year, and two years – to ensure homeowners are completely satisfied. “When someone buys a house from us it’s a long term relationship.” This customer satisfaction commitment has resulted in some clients buying a second house from Winzen when they’re ready to upgrade to a larger home.
Both Raymond and Brian are very hands-on in the company. They oversee the construction of the site and homes from start to finish, as well as formulating the plans with architects.
“We’re not the largest builder, nor are we the smallest builder, but we are large enough to build a quality product and we’ve been building houses for a very, very long time,” says Raymond. “We watch the houses that we build very closely, making sure that every stage of construction is being monitored by our staff so we feel that we have good quality control over the product that we building.”
