Your jewellery can suffer from everyday wear and tear. So what do you do if you have a broken clasp, a missing stone or a ring that doesn’t fit? Take them to a trusted jeweler to have them repaired and resized.
At H.Williams Jewellery, they do all their repairs on site, so you don’t have to worry about your precious possessions and family heirlooms being sent through the mail.
“We keep it here at all times giving you piece of mind,” says Glen Watts of H.Williams Jewellery. Another advantage to taking your jewellery to H.Williams Jewellery is that they have internationally trained goldsmiths on site. Simple repairs such as a broken clasp or a lose claw can easily be repaired in one to three days. If the piece needs extensive work or if there are stones that need to be replaced, it may take a little longer.
“If missing stones are involved, we may need to order stones in and make sure they match, but generally it’s a lot quicker because we don’t send them out,” Watt explains.
So what’s involved when taking your treasured items to a jeweler for repair?
“If you know what needs to be done, bring it in to us and let us know. We’ll examine it to make sure what needs to be done, gets done,” says Watt.
The jeweler also inspects the claws holding the stones to make sure they’re nice and strong. If your ring has been getting caught on the fabric of your shirt, it may mean that the claws are very thin and are going to break. Instead of waiting until you’ve lost a stone from your ring, Watt recommends having your rings examined every six to twelve months as a preventative measure.
“We’ll be happy to examine it for you to make sure it doesn’t need any work. It’s a way of being proactive instead of reactive.”
If you’ve been given a ring as a gift or if you have a ring that doesn’t fit comfortably anymore, it can easily and quickly be resized. All you need to do is bring it in to H.Williams Jewellery and they’ll measure your ring size to make sure the resized ring will fit perfectly.
