Are you looking to add some pizzazz to your kitchen? By adding a few unique pieces to your kitchen you can really bring out the ‘wow’ factor. Whether you’re looking to add a showcase piece of furniture, hand painted tableware or stoneware , Casa Luna in Aurora has an eclectic selection of products that can help make your kitchen a place to entertain, relax, and enjoy.

“It’s really quite easy to bring the wow factor into your kitchen when buying a piece of furniture from Casa Luna,” admits Anita Duraes, owner of Casa Luna. “The furniture is made with reclaimed wood and marble inlay. Our tables are stunning and when you walk into a kitchen it’s usually the first thing people notice.” Casa Luna also has a large selection of islands made with reclaimed wood and marble inlay or coppertops.

According to Duraes, the design and style of your kitchen doesn’t have to dictate what elements you can bring into your space. Modern and traditional kitchens can benefit from a unique piece of furniture.

“One of the best parts of decorating today is the fun of mixing and matching pieces. In most of our kitchens, our cupboards are different from our islands,” admits Duraes. If you become sentimentally attached to an island that you’ve added to your kitchen, you don’t have to leave it behind if you move. “Of course it will add value to your home, but if you’ve fallen in love with it, it doesn’t have to stay in the home.”

If you want to add some wow factor on a smaller scale, Casa Luna has unique and stunning tableware that is hand made by different artisans.

“We meet with all the artisans and we have a selection of beautiful handcrafted ceramic dishware. We also have a fantastic line of hand blown glass that is stunning and dishwasher safe. Another line we have is stoneware – it’s extremely heavy, but gorgeous. It’s also dishwasher safe and you can put it in the oven,” explains Duraes. For your kitchen walls or shelves to display unique decorative pieces, Casa Luna has a great selection of hand painted pottery, platters, art work and peppinos. “We call them peppinos, but they are beautifully handcrafted ceramic peppers,” says Duraes adding that they colourful peppers add a punch of colour into the room. Not only do they brighten up the room, these pieces become a conversation started when company comes to visit. When it comes to buying products for the store, Casa Luna has a 100 per cent fair trade philosophy that ensures all products are socially and environmentally conscious. Buying directly from the artisan, Duraes is able to ensure her customers that the pieces being bought do not support child labour and all the money is going directly to the artisans.
