A dynamic and effervescent personality, Meriel Bradley was born in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, England, the first of many inspiring British garden cities, where she developed a life-long passion for gardening, cooking, decorating and the creative arts at an early age.

At sixteen, Meriel was awarded a full scholarship to the top-rated Bush Davies School -- a highly esteemed British school for performing arts. It was there that she honed the performance, creative and presentation skills that make her the delightful television personality, sales presentation host, writer and instructor she is today.

In addition to England, Meriel lived and worked in Spain and Germany before settling in Ontario, Canada. She credits the breadth of her knowledge and interest in food, culture and creative projects in part to her travel and work in these additional countries.

Meriel’s incredible flair for creating delicious foods, imaginative arts and crafts, and how-to projects has earned her numerous television appearances, sales positions, hosting opportunities, commercials, live and televised product demonstrations, and informative seminars.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

PROGRAM SALES, TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT: Meriel’s training in the performing and creative arts, and as a fully-qualified performance instructor, led to a position as Director, developing curriculum for and managing on-camera / on-air training programs for The National Institute of Broadcasting in Canada, where she also developed and managed a wide range of highly successful sales presentations, programming and business development strategies aimed at increasing and sustaining enrollment levels.

ONAIR SALES PRESENTATIONS: Called The Shopping Channel’s ‘Martha Stewart of the Great White North’, Meriel was the Canadian on-air spokesperson for George Foreman and Maxim Toastmaster / Salton USA products for six consecutive years, and is one of The Shopping Channels highest sellers, attaining the distinction of delivering a long-standing sales record of $1,000,000 in sales in a single day.

TELEVISION HOST, CREATIVE PRODUCER: Meriel acted as Host and Creative Producer on her very own New York-based television series Simply Smashing on Discovery Home in the USA, featuring her cooking, how-to and creative talents.

TELEVISION HOST: Meriel co-hosted HGTV’s long-running Garden Architecture series for 6 years (US and Canada), writing, creating and presenting an endless series of practical, easy-to-complete gardening projects -- a position that accentuated her vibrant personality, highly developed creative principles, and practical ideas.

TELEVISION GUEST HOST: Meriel has appeared as a regular guest on City TV’s Cityline, engaging live studio and television audiences with her practical and creative approach to numerous projects and solutions for around the home and garden.

AUTHOR: Meriel is a best-selling author of numerous how-to articles and programs, as well as three cookbooks -- Indoor Grilling, Salads & Sides, and Desserts. She self-published and sold 30,000 books in her first year alone. They can be seen in Chapters, Homeoutfitters, in the US and globally across the web.

PERFORMER, PRESENTER: Meriel has also performed / presented live and on-air commercial promotions for companies such as the BBC, P&G, L’Oreal, Vidal Sassoon, Coca Cola, Eatons, Sears, Homeoutfitters, The Bay, the Bermuda Tourist Board and Sprint Canada.
