A real estate agent doesn’t work alone and a successful
agent like Dan Cooper, has plenty of resources logged into the contact list of
his Blackberry.
Cooper has a team of agents and administration support staff
but he also has an extended team that includes three or four home stagers,
painters, mortgage brokers, lawyers and investment counselors.
“You need to have a medley of services and resources,”
suggests Cooper.
Some of those resources are called upon to add value to a
home that’s listed with Dan Cooper Realty. “Many times we go into a property
and it’s not perfect, it needs something,” he says. A real estate transaction
can take the skills of up to 20 service-related people.
For those not involved in the real estate business, it
appears that the process is as simple as putting a “for sale” sign up on the
lawn and then slapping a sold sign over top a few weeks later. According to
Cooper, they don’t see all of the work that goes on between those two events.
“People don’t realize how much work goes into it. It’s not
an exact science,” Cooper suggests.
He and his team members share a passion for the business,
pouring their heart and soul into it and putting in long hours. It’s a job that
has you on call 24/7. Knowing the right people to make it all happen is
extremely important and Cooper values his access to a network of resources.
The ability to pull together the right people with the right
skills results in satisfied clients. “We make sure it’s a happy experience so
they tell their friends,” says the realtor.
