“Maintain a well-balanced lifestyle, consisting of healthy diet and exercise. The results will astonish you.” This is one of the “inspirational quotes” posted on the John Savidis’ Lean & Fit website and it’s one with which his clients would agree.
John Savidis' Lean & Fit is a structured, 10-week, boot-camp style program designed to get you in the best shape of your life. The program includes circuit training classes, resistance training, student workbook, two body analysis tests, a nutrition seminar and “all the motivation you can handle”. Motivation is a recurring theme in a series of testimonials provided by clients who are living proof that program participants are successful in achieving their fitness and weight loss goals.
“I was really down, I needed something to inspire and motivate me,” recalls Donna Skelly of her state of mind when she signed up for the program in February 2008.
Like many of Savidis’ clients, she was skeptical going in but within a week she had lost 10 pounds. Even though she was exhausted, she was motivated and hooked on the program. She noticed significant changes in her body after three months. For the first time in 30 years of television broadcasting, she wore a sleeveless top on air.
“I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been in thanks to the program. A year-and-a-half later and my body has transformed completely,” says Skelly.
She was inspired by the people around her and wanted to come to class. It wasn’t necessary to push herself to attend. It’s not a huge time commitment and she can accommodate her sessions even with a busy schedule. The committed client describes the program as tough and versatile.
Skelly explains, “You are not sure what you’ll be doing one day to the next.”
The trainers know how to challenge you, she says. It’s possible to target areas that women struggle with – arms, recovering after baby and the abdominals.
“I learned how to eat properly. I learned that you don’t have to work out every single day. You do what the instructors say and you’ll get results,” she contends.
Maureen Ellis was unhappy with herself , had no energy and was overweight from years of sitting behind a desk and letting herself go. Joining the Lean & Fit program was a 50th birthday gift to herself, despite the fact that she wasn’t sure it would work.
“It was completely different from anything I’d ever done. In addition to working out and feeling like I had stepped into a family situation, I finally understood. I was educated and motivated. That was the difference,” says Ellis, who now has more energy than she did at age 16.
Weight loss was Tina Lively’s goal when she joined the 10-week program. Within 10 weeks she’d dropped 32 pounds and now has lost 72 pounds. She feeds off of the energy in the facility and admits to being “addicted”. What Lively had intended to be a one-year commitment has gone into a second year. She’d tried other programs but never with such success.
